“Foundation is the lower portion of a building that
carrying loads from supports like column or wall and transmit it to the ground”
“Slab is the flat and lower surface in particular
floor on which we staying and resting our goods”
So Foundation is the base of a Building. If somehow it undergoes down,
the whole structure will be fail. And which could be reason of heavy loss. On
other hand , if a slab got fail, it could be caused to loss life and capital of
that particular floor or more. So these two has highly importance on designing.
In some cases that design need to be performed by method. This process is laborious & time
consuming. But nowadays engineers design with softwares in computer. And by
different opinion “SAFE” became the
best analyzer for design Foundation and slab.
SAFE is the Structural analysis tool by CSI [Computers and Structure
Inc.]. SAFE is highly recommendable for designing Slab and Foundation. This
application provides precise results from the operation. SAFE has the easiest
drawing tool to make a model. Besides ETABS or CAD models could be imported.
Even using data from Spreadsheet, Database program a model could be generated.
This is really a useful feature.
Slab or Foundation can be of any shape. Slab could have any framing
system such as One way, Two way, Flat plate,
Flat, Waffle, Ribbed beam etc with Columns, Brace, Walls or stair jointed
upper or lower portion of that floor. Or a foundation can have any type like
Mat, Combined etc.
So SAFE is the really reliable
tool for modeling, Analyzing, Reinforce detailing could be performed on this
software.
